Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To whom this may concern,

I finished my first semester at Queen's in December but it did not go as planned due to emergency situations happening to my father back home. I had to fly back 5 times last semester for considerable amounts of time to help my family. This situation took a turn for the worse when my father's financials were frozen for investigation. As I was unable to pay tuition last semester and the situation with my father did look to resolve itself in 3 months, I decided not to enrol in this semester. However, we have gotten the news that my father's financials will be unfrozen next week. I am aware that the deadline to add and drop classes was last week and I am willing to do the work needed to catch up. This frustrating situation meant that not only was I unable to hand in assignments but I also missed tests and exams. I was also unable to study even a fraction of the amount I wanted to. This was extremely frustrating as I obviously did very poorly in all of those classes. I am a very motivated and ambitious student and I would like to graduate as soon as possible with the best possible grades to be able to attend graduate school. I would really appreciate the opportunity to take these classes and I am aware that a lot of work will need to be done in order to catch up.

Thank you for your understanding,

Anastasia Huet

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: As the situation with my father is settled and cleared, I will no longer have to travel and spend my time looking after my family. I will finally be able to hand assignments in on time, not miss tests or exams, and more importantly give 100 of my efforts to studying and learning. Having been a professional athlete from 2010 to 2016, I am a perfectionist and I give 100 of my dedication to whatever it is that I am dong, which is partly also the reason why I was unable to give the time I wanted to give to my studies; because I was giving my time and energy to my family.
Most of the classes I am planning on taking this semester are courses that I took last semester but did not do well in due to the situation with my father. I am planning to take 6 classes this semester because I am very motivated and as I do not have a full time job I can spend all of my time concentrating on getting good grades. I distinctly remember that the course material was mostly review as I had seen a lot of the material in my high school, but that being said I am still extremely interested and exited to learn more. I plan on taking summer classes this years, the Fall semester, Winter semester and Summer next year to be able to graduate in 2020. My goal is go to graduate school and perhaps pursue a PhD.
