Petition Letter: Hello there, my name is Charlotte Connell and I am a fourth year POLS-PSYC medial student graduating this year. I am appealing to add a course (POLS 383) after the add/drop date which was Jan.19th, and to drop a course (POLS 393) that I am currently enrolled in because I am really not liking it.
I have been actively trying to get into the course (POLS 383) since November and was in the 1 spot on the waiting list for the course before the drop date of Jan.19th. A spot has become available from a student dropping the course after the drop-date which is why I did not switch into/appeal earlier. As it is my last year I do not have the opportunity to take the course next year. I feel that being in this course (POLS 383), which covers topics that I am greatly interested in will make my last semester at queens more enjoyable as I will be engaged in the material and what I am learning.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: I believe that I will still be able to succeed if allowed to enroll in POLS 383, despite being late to add the course. I am willing to put in the extra effort needed to catch up and would be appreciative if granted enrollment into POLS 383.
I attended the course for the first two weeks of this semester right up until the drop date (Jan.19) in the hopes that I would get into the course, so I am not far behind in terms of what I need to catch up on. In addition, I have a friend/classmate in the class that is more than happy to provide me with notes for the class that I missed.
I have contacted the professor who is supportive of me joining the class as a spot is available, and am aware of a midterm coming up that I believe I have sufficient time to prepare for.
