Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am submitting an appeal to add a course, Introduction to Statistics 263. I have already taken this course in the winter term of 2017 but I am not satisfied with my mark and therefore wish to repeat it. I have tried getting into the course since last semester but have not been successful. Since I am graduating in May 2018, this semester is the last chance I have to repeat STATS 263. At the beginning of the semester, I spoke with Professor Charles Molson in order to figure out what can be done. Professor Molson gave the Undergraduate Chair of Mathematics and Statistics permission to add me to the online section of this course, but I was never added. Meanwhile, I was contacting the Life Sciences office, since this is my major, but they could not do anything without Professor Molson¿¿s direct permission.

I believe I can greatly improve my mark on this course if I am allowed to repeat it. If I repeat the course the original grade on my transcript would be replaced, allowing my GPA to improve. Professor Molson has given permission for me to be added to the course, but the Undergraduate Chair of Mathematics and Statistics never added me.
