Dear Associate Dean of Studies,
I am writing to you today with the request to appeal the 21-day timeframe normally required. Due to extenuating circumstances, I was unable to finish the coursework. I was generously granted extensions by my professors for the coursework, but unfortunately I was still unable to complete the assignments.
I am appealing the 21-day restriction to be lifted so that I can continue with appealing to drop 4 courses: MATH 121, ARTH 226, GNDS 215 and WRIT 195. I understand these are a lot of courses to appeal, but I want to explain that these were over the summer of 2013 and the fall of 2013. I am only able now to confront these issues and I want them deal with early in the year so that I don¿¿t have them looming over me this school year. From what you can see on my transcript, I completed all of my classes in Winter 2014 and I was able to finish all of my assignments on time.
It is through the help that I received at Health Services that I was able to get through this difficult time. I received counseling and medical attention and have been able to work through many issues that have been restricting through my two years at Queen¿¿s thus far.
If granted the 21 day appeal, I will further explain my situation and provide documentation of the medical care received and my future action plan.
Thank you for your time,
Brittany Oates
