New Information: To whom it may concern:
My name is Hanan Mohamoud and I am a counsellor and friend to Mouno. I began counselling Muna regarding her school and other issues last fall and we¿¿ve been in contact since. I do not claim to offer any professional expertise, I only counsel her based upon my experience and knowledge. I believe Mouno has showed improvement in her mental health struggles and learning to adjust to them and her daily life. It is my understanding that Mouno may not be permitted to continue school past this semester due to her previous academic struggles. She has endured quite a lot in terms of her personal life and it took quite a toll her on mental capacity to focus on school. It is my understanding that this has been detailed to you in her previous application. However, I would like to mention she is in a much better place now, thankfully, and this is not only due to my counselling but a few other people in our community as well who took the time and effort to sit down and be of assistance to her. I believe, were she given the chance, Mouno would be able to perform significantly better in her studies were she allowed to continue past this semester. She has come to recognize the importance of dealing with her mental health in a productive manner and not ignoring it.
Update:
I began counselling Mouno in November 2017. We met in our religious community where she sought my advice and counsel regarding her school and personal life. We are still in contact today. She began suffering from personal issues in her life which affected her school in 2016. She neglected to seek counselling for a year due to her not taking her mental health seriously enough and into consideration. I hope this helps with your inquiry.
