Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Hello Associate Dean,
I am appealing a potential miscalculation in my final grade for KNPE251 (Introduction to Statistics). Though this was a fall semester course, I wrote a deferred exam on January 19th and my final grade was only uploaded to SOLUS about 2 weeks ago. I believe that my final grade was miscalculated, as per my grades achieved throughout the semester and the grade weighting listed in the syllabus. Right now, SOLUS lists my grade as a B, whereas if calculated I believe my grade should be an 84.5, or an A. I believe that the issue may have been related to exempted term tests; I had these marks redistributed to my final due to varsity commitments, and if not reweighed correctly, this may have cause a miscalculation in my final grade (my final was ultimately worth 50). I have contacted my course instructor, Dr. William Nelson, regarding this issue with no response. I have attached documentation of my marks from the course, as well as the given mark on SOLUS and the grade weighting from the syllabus.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter,
Isabelle Birchall
