Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean (Studies),
My name is Danial Ali and I am a third year economics student .The reason that I am contacting you in order to request dropping a course after its due deadline.
This whole semester has been an emotional one for me and I have not been able to give my 100 in it. In the middle of the semester, my grand mother passed away back home and her sudden death had left me in a state of trauma. I was the closest to her in the family and her suddenly death put me in a state of depression. I had been out of school for a couple of weeks and that is when Jennine ball, the head of economics advised me to take a semester off or to visit the student wellness center for help. When I visited the student and wellness center ,they assigned me a councilor who then provided me an accommodation letter in order to help me out in my situation.
I had joined the class ECON 332 three weeks late because of being placed on waitlist and after my personnel tragedy, I wasn't able to attend the class for another two weeks and was also unable to write the midterm due to the shear stress.
I honestly believe that I cannot pass this course at this point in time and would hence be allowed to drop it without academic penalty .
I will attach the accommodation letter which was provided to me by the student wellness center.
