Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am currently appealing to have CISC 497, a required course for graduating this year, added into my schedule while also dropping CISC 435 as it conflicts with my level change to MATH 126. During the summer I had a medical circumstance that affected my ability to make good decisions while enrolling.
This summer I pinched my sciatic nerve and am currently awaiting a second MRI to address the severity of a crack in my hip. My incident happened while working this summer, June 3rd 2014, and I am still not back to my full physical performance. I still have much pain and discomfort.
During enrollment I was in severe amounts of pain and discomfort and accidentally enrolled in MATH 120. This is a MATH major course, but in my state I thought it was the correct course. That mistake disabled me from enrolling in CISC 497 because of conflicts, which forced me to take CISC 435 in order to have fall computing credits.
With OSAP delayed, and being in a less-than-fit state of mind, I was unable to change my schedule in time for me to meet the academic add/drop deadline. I have just received OSAP funding this morning, October 2nd/2014. I have been attending the 497 course already and have already received the professor's permission to add late and so have seized attending CISC 435.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: If given the opportunity to fully and officially enroll in CISC 497, I will be graduating this year with a Computer Science degree. Also, CISC 435 is a non-mandatory course which was added to sustain my course load. There are no repercussions, other than monetary, for dropping CISC 435. However, if I am not allowed to enroll for CISC 497, I will be unable to graduate this year and will have to return to take one course. Given that I have the permission of the professor already, and am already assigned to a group in CISC 497 I don't believe my late entry is going to affect my academic standing in the course. CISC 497 is a seminar/presentation course with debates and discussion of topics. This is the type of course I thoroughly enjoy, and plan to do very well in.
