Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am writing this appeal letter to make a request to drop these following courses: POLS 262 and LLCU 110 and POLS 264 and HIST 270.
As was described in my previous appeal letter, I developed a psychological issue in 2016 which resulted in suicidal thoughts. The psychological issue was caused mainly by things that were related to my identity and religious reasons and other social aspects. My doctor medically diagnosed me with bi-polar depression but I thought that the diagnosis was not accurate so I decided not to take any mediation for it. I also had learning difficulties as well.
I became Christian over the summer of 2016, and what happened in the summer of 2016 gave me a new hope to live. Therefore, I decided to come back to school in the following year. My academic performance improved in the fall semester of 2016 as this was the year in which I was able to actually focus on school. However, I still had an ongoing psychological issue during the fall semester for 2016 which was slowly getting better at the time.
I met a person in the winter semester of 2017 back home who ended up harassing me and my family for a long period of time, eventually threatening to physically harm me and my family. I was very exhausted by the whole situation. I could not focus on school, and the situation took a significant toll on my physical health as well. Moreover, some of my family members ended up finding out some ¿¿things¿ about myself that I never wanted them to find out about.
My psychological state worsened, and as a result I was not able to complete the courses I took during the winter semester of 2017, even with the support from my professors. Because of what happened then, I developed other psychological problems such as insomnia and a few other physical problems which are still on-going today. I have been taking medications for my insomnia, and my health has been slowly getting better again. I decided to take a short break for a semester and came back to school for the winter semester of 2018. My mind is certainly at a better place now.
