I¿¿m here to appeal to drop the BCHM316/310. There are two events that greatly affect my academic performance on this course.
The first reason is the physical illness. The detrimental weather during the exam period got me fever from about April 12 to 21. I had dizziness and cannot stop vomiting every morning. Since I had medicine on hand and exam period was really busy, so I did not go to the doctor but pushed myself to review for exams. I had to review for two biochemistry exams during my sick time and this may be making my situation even worse.
The second reason is that I overestimated my ability on handling pressure. I¿¿m taking BCHM316 and BCHM411 at the same time. These two courses have both of midterm and exam arranged back to back accidentally. The BCHM316 midterm was done very poorly since I had it right after BCHM411 midterm, so I wasn¿¿t able to really think into the questions at that time. I understand this arrangement is allowed according to regulation, but this is affecting my performance due to the fact that reviewing two biochemistry exams at the same time is truly intense. When I first saw the exam schedule, I was looking forward to overcoming this psychological challenge by giving myself pressure. Now I look back and believe the psychological reason also adds up to my sickness. I truly tried my best on reviewing, but under high pressure, I was not able to focus, and a great portion of my attention was being used for pushing myself not being afraid.
Very appreciated for taking consideration and processing my appeal.
Lingxiu Zhong,
Sincerely.
