Petition Letter: Hello,
Last April, I enrolled in an online Statistics course and hoped to complete it.
Shortly thereafter, both of my parents, who are alcoholics and suffer from serious mental illness, went into crisis and spent several months in and out of hospital. In one week, we counted 6 ambulance trips for falls. During this time my mother broke her collar bone and her other arm, and my father lost mobility. At that time we had to move them into different housing, find them 24 hour nursing care, and navigate the murky channels of addictions and harm reduction support. I have two children of my own, a PhD in progress, and I run an international educational project. It was a busy time.
In the midst of all of this chaos, I realized I had fallen way behind in the STATS course and meant to drop it. I thought I had, but unfortunately the records show that I didn¿¿t. I have only just become aware of a 650 outstanding debt because previous invoices had been accumulating in a Queens email account I don¿¿t use.
Can you please let me know what I have to do to appeal this tuition charge on grounds of extenuating circumstances I would appreciate any help you can provide.
