Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am writing to appeal my failing grade in the two courses I took for the Winter 2017 semester. The courses were clinical psychology and geology.
In October 2017 I tore my ACL playing for the Kingston Frontenacs. I returned home and had reconstructive surgery in November. After the Christmas break I returned to the Fontenacs, Kingston and Queens.
At the insistence of my parents I enrolled in two courses at Queens but was already feeling very overwhelmed physically and emotionally with the rehab process and trying to get back to playing the game. I probably should have dropped the two courses earlier but didn't want to disappoint my parents so I didn't. The pressure of rehab, school and the team commitments was too much for me, and I am aware I should have dropped the classes at Queens, rather than having failing grades on my transcript.
At this point I am looking to return to Queens full time in the fall of 2018 and would like the opportunity to start with a clean slate and am appealing the two failed grades based on medical reasons.
