Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear Dear Associate Dean,

I am appealing some of my grades from fall of 2017 (PSYC202, PSYC241, PSYC271, PSYC205) and winter of 2018 (PSYC236, PSYC203) and seeking CR.

I¿¿m a second-year student with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, depression, and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD).

At the end of my first year at Queen¿¿s, I suffered from a breakdown that set me back years in my recovery. Over the summer, I worked with a therapist to regain my footing, but this was especially difficult when my uncle passed away in August. Upon my return to Queen¿¿s, I started on medication. Since then, I¿¿ve switched medication two or three times in an effort to find something that stuck.
I¿¿m just asking for the chance to prove I can achieve my first-year grades again. I¿¿m passionate about psychology, and my fall grades bombed my psych GPA. I know what I want to do in my life and I don¿¿t want this year to set me back. Nothing is more important to me than graduating and continuing my education so that I can help other people who are struggling. I plan to work intensively in order to make school my number one priority in the 2018-2019 year.

Thank you for your consideration,

Bianca Cairo

letterN/ADear Associate Dean,

I am writing to request that the deadline to appeal for CR status on courses be waived for Fall 2017 and Winter 2018 courses.

I have had significant medical extenuating circumstances, have been under the care of a physician and I have documentation to that end that I will attach when possible.

At the end of my first year at Queen's, I suffered from a breakdown that set me back years in my recovery. Over the summer, I worked with a therapist to regain my footing, but this was especially difficult when my uncle passed away in August. Upon my return to Queen's, I started on medication. Since then, I've switched medication two or three times in an effort to find something that stuck.
