Petition Letter: To whom this may concern,
My name is Janane Anantharajah and I am a second year student majoring in Sociology, I decided to take Psyc 100 again in efforts to major in Psychology as I had not gotten in the previous years. Throughout the summer , in the beginning, I was on the right track but towards the latter part I was having many mental health issues due to extenuating family circumstances and could just not get through the weeks of summer school. I was not staying in my main residence (home) so I did not have access to all resources that would complete the course to the best of my ability, and emotionally/mentally could not focus. At this time I was off my anxiety medication (Fluoxetine) and took steps to get back on it which I currently am. I did not have stability or proper ways to cope with my domestic situation. In turn, I also misinterpreted the dates and thought July 30th was the deadline but that was only for July-August, but my course was May - August. Overall, it was a truly overwhelming time for me and I have decided to just remain in Sociology and go towards this plan instead. I appreciate your understanding and consideration in this matter.
