Petition Letter: Hello Associate Dean of Arts and Science,
My name is Otto Breski-Thompson. I am requesting a late drop of the course ASPC 221 due to extenuating circumstances out of my control. I have had an exceptionally difficult past few months dealing with issues that I am currently seeing a therapist and Practitioners for at LaSalle. I am an individual with Generalized Anxiety and Depressive Disorder, which causes difficulties in concentration and mood. I was also the victim of sexual assault, which worsened the Anxiety and Depression and made it very hard to motivate myself and get what I needed done. This has caused a great deal of complications that I am trying to work my way through. As a result, I was unfortunately unable to keep up with the volume of work required by APSC 221.
Unable to keep up with my assignments and readings, I began to search for a way to drop the course, but having missed the deadline I looked for a late appeal. I first attempted to go through Computing, after which I went through Engineering before I was finally sent to Arts and Science to appeal the late drop.
