Dear Associate Dean,

I am writing to request to drop one of my courses: History 246: ¿¿The Soviet Experiment¿. I feel that I cannot learn to the best of my abilities with a maximum course load. I found that the lighter course load in second semester last academic year was a more appropriate pace, as reflected by my transcript. This has led me to believe that dropping a course is in my best interest. I have decided that History 246 is my best option since it is the course in which I have been evaluated the least, given that there has only been one midterm. By comparison, I have already submitted several projects, in my other courses.

I understand that I have missed the drop date. This was due to my indecisiveness as to which course to drop, coupled with a very hectic week leading up to the drop date. In the weeks leading up to the drop date I also missed many History 246 classes due to working important Homecoming shifts for the Student Constables. As well as having a very strange strand of the flu, with symptoms ranging from fever, to head colds to extreme fatigue. Worst of all the symptoms were on and off, falsely leading me to believe I was getting better, making me think that a doctor¿¿s visit was unnecessary. Lastly, I have recently sought out an appointment with Disability Services in order to assess whether or not I have a learning disability given my academic performance.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and considering my case.

Sincerely,

Richard Mokrosz
