Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean of Studies,

I am appealing to take 3 courses at Ryerson University for the Winter 2019 term. During this time, I plan on taking my electives online at Queen's University.

I feel that a semester in my hometown of Toronto will be beneficial for me psychologically. Firstly, I have been incredibly stressed these past two semesters and believe that having my family as a support system for the winter term would be relieving. I have been taking six courses these last couple of semesters, as I am completing a business certificate that requires me to enroll in extra classes, making it exceedingly difficult for me to balance my time and complete my work. Secondly, this year is different from others as my entire house will be subletting their rooms and going on exchange. I do not feel that I will have a big enough support system here, living in a house with entirely new people from different countries.

I am looking forward to returning to Queen's University for Fall 2019 to reunite with my housemates and support one another. After this semester I will have completed enough of my business courses to allow me to take five classes for the remaining semester.
