Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces currently working in Kingston at Fort Frontenac. I am responsible to the Canadian Manoeuvre Training Centre for the planning of collective training activities and, as such spend significant time travelling. I enrolled in the course as a general interest student in the summer having assessed that my work schedule would permit me the time to complete the courseware. However, my responsibilities have required me to travel throughout the fall to a greater degree than I had anticipated. I spent six weeks in September/October in Petawawa, Toronto, and Quebec. I expended significant efforts to follow the courseware, but often found myself in lodgings where there was limited connectivity. Over the next few weeks I will travel again and face the same connectivity limitations. At this point I am will not be able to complete the courseware or exam to the standard I expect. I recognize that I am past the withdraw date; however, I request that my failure to complete the course not be reflected on my academic record.
I have enjoyed the courseware and have found the online interface engaging. The professor has clearly outlined objectives and the course materials are interesting. I would like to complete the credit at some point when I am in a position to commit myself to the material. However, at this point my responsibilities to the military must take precedence.
I apologize for the inconvenience to your staff. I am interested in the course and further studies at Queens¿¿ University. However, my professional responsibilities preclude me from studying at this time.
Thank you for your consideration on this matter.
