Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean of Studies

I have received a Letter of Permission to take and transfer 6.0 units from Athabasca University to my Health Studies degree at Queens University. I am appealing to have 3.0 additional credits accepted for transfer during this 2018-2019 Fall/Winter period. Please note that this additional course (3.0 units) has already been included in my Letter of Permission.

The reason for taking these courses at another institution are as follows. First, I am required to be in British Columbia during this academic year, so in order to stay on track with my program requirements I need to take my courses online. Although I am able to take (and enrolled in) Psychology 100 online, my other program requirements are not available in an online platform. Athabasca University offers courses online that help fulfill my degree requirements, as well as supplement my area of study very well. Receiving the 9.0 credits, outlined in my Letter of Permission, will support me in fulfilling my academic requirements for my degree program.

I thank you for your time and consideration.

Best regards,

Lily Helmer-Smith

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: I will follow a regular study plan to ensure that I keep up with the course requirements and readings throughout their entirety. After completion of these courses, I will ensure that an official transcript is received and that the transfers are complete. These 9.0 credits of transfer are hugely helpful in maintaining my progress in my program.
