Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I am writing this letter to appeal for a change from CISC 121 to CISC 110. I have been struggling with exercises, and the latest assignment has made me realised that the course CISC 121 is not for me. I am hoping that I would be able to be transferred into CISC 110, so that I could learn the basics before I am ready to take CISC 121 during the winter.

David Lamb, the undergraduate chair of the School of Computing and I had a discussion about how I should proceed. He told me to write this appeal letter, to try to get into CISC 110. He told me that if I had no prior programming experience, I should not be doing CISC 121, but a beginner course to learn the fundamentals first instead. Since CISC 101 is full, I am attempting to enter CISC 110, which could help me prepare for CISC 121 when I am taking it in the winter.

I never knew CISC 121 would be this difficult, else I would've taken CISC 101 instead. I would've spent time to learn programming, however with my 3 other math courses that requires my full attention. I could not find time to take online tutorials to learn how to program in less than a week, to complete my assignments. So I am writing this appeal letter to attempt to transfer into CISC 110 so that I can have help and be able to learn how to program before I am ready to take CISC 121 again in the winter.
