Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,

My appeal is based on my inability to have attended the midterm exam for ¿¿Introduction to Health Promotion¿. I have been dealing with severe mental illness issues prior to having come to Queen¿¿s and unfortunately have had it grow increasingly difficult recently. On the day of the exam, I was also scheduled to work as I¿¿m employed by Queen¿¿s Advancement under Queen¿¿s Telefundraising. The day of the exam as well as days leading up to it, I struggled to accomplish many of the mandatory tasks I was juggling, including attending the exam which can be further supported by an email that I sent to QTS explaining that I was dealing with debilitating anxiety attacks and would be unable to fulfill my scheduled shift. I have since then made the effort to seek help through the services made available at La Salle but have had great difficulty getting appointments that aren¿¿t multiple weeks later than when I¿¿ve been seeking help. La Salle will have documentation of me checking in for a crisis appointment as well as having records of my history of seeking assistance through both the clinic and counselling services. I have personally been working to mediate the symptoms of my mental health issues and am hoping that there is a way for me to compensate for the marks missed as I thoroughly enjoy Dr. Masuda¿¿s teaching style and content and would like to prove my understanding and engagement in the course.

Best,
Lauchland Schuler-Lee
