Petition Letter: Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing an appeal to add a course past the academic deadline, Jan 19, 2019.
Only yesterday, Jan 24, did I discover that in order to complete my final degree requirements, I will be needing two level-400 courses (6.0 units in total) instead, I had enrolled to only one course of 3.0 units.
I was away for a year prior to Winter 2019 and did not have a clear understanding of the final requirements for my program. This is an error on my part, and I apologize for that.
It is a requirement for me to join PHIL 464 along with my other course, PHIL 493, in order to graduate this fall.
I had already applied for graduation and planned to finish all my final requirements this semester. Further, I am applying to a Master's program in Toronto this fall and can no longer stay in Kingston this September.
In addition, I had reached out to the PHIL 464 instructor, Professor Nancy Salay, who supports my appeal and has welcomed me to the course. I have already purchased the text, and I am in the process of catching with the chapter 1 readings to be able to participate in Week 4's seminar. I find that the catch up is manageable and still realistically possible.
I am hoping that you consider my appeal, for it would benefit my career and and future studies.
Thank you very much for your time.
All the best,
Aniela Tolentino
