Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am requesting that the 21 day deadline be waived so that I can have my Psychology 100 MidYear Exam corrected. There are two main points that I believe justify a late correction:
- The first, is simply the nature of the marking error; two pages were left unmarked (I checked with my TA and he agreed that this is clearly what happened). I believe this is quite an objective fix and is not one that should require any debate (according to my TA there are multiple people in my Lab who also had unmarked pages and faced/are facing the same problem I am having right now). There are some other issues I would like to address but, first and foremost, I think it is fair and justified for me to expect to always have my exam marked in it's entirety, and for that responsibility to fall on those who are assigned to mark my exam.
- The second reason is a current health condition that has been affecting me for around 7 months now. I've had chronic, everyday stomach pain (most hours of the day) and have received treatment from a doctor 3 times with little to no improvement. I am scheduled with a stomach specialist in Kingston to get an endoscope, but I have been waiting for months. (I have access to documentation of all of this from my family doctor, which I can provide).
For these two reasons, I greatly hope that a decision to waive the 21 day deadline will be made, as I believe it is reasonable considering both my ongoing health condition and the nature of the marking mistake.
