Petition Letter: Dear Sir or Madam,
I have been influenced by my dental surgery since the last past few weeks, such that I decided to make this appeal to drop a course.
Almost 3 weeks ago one of my wisdom teeth was broken and it was falling apart, I felt so much pain every time when I bite on it and there was a lot blood. It is on the bottom left side of my mouth. After a couple of days, I got my appointment to remove the small falling part and another few appointments to get the surgery done. At that time I have missed some days of class because my face was swelled and it keeps me up all night long. I cannot eat properly, cannot sleep and cannot even concentrate on my study. One more thing is I am an international student so there is not any family members in Canada can take care of me. After the surgery done, my face got swelled for more than a week and the blood keeps running for the first 2-3 days. And the painkillers that I was taking can cause somnolence. Sometime during the day time I felt so hard to keep my eyes open and even I take before the bed, it is tough to wake up in the morning and I felt lost all my strength. I wish I can attend my classes at the morning, but I really could not. It was so tough for me since the last past 3 weeks. I missed a lot classes (especially CISC 101 because it always the morning 8:30 or 9:30). The program that I got into Queen¿¿s is computing, but for now I did not do well on my midterm exam (last Friday) as an impact of my sickness. To be honest, I do not really want to drop this class because as a matter of fact that I may have to choose to transfer to another major. Now I am feeling so lost behind and I have tried to catch up but it really takes a lot time for doing that therefore I do not have enough time for working on my other classes. The final exams are almost there so I am just wondering if you can help me to drop this course and I may take it during the summer of later. Actually I have been considered about changing my major and I have talked to an academic advisor, they said it is all right if I drop the CISC course if I do not feel like taking computing anymore. The dental exam shows that I need to get 4 more tooth extractions and a lot filling. In total there are 17 tooth problems need to be fixed, some of them are urgent if I do not do anything it may start hurting me tomorrow or my face will swelled some of my teeth already have been decayed and I just got back from the dentist for going all the things over and making a few more appointments in the next few weeks. I really appreciate that you can understand my situation, I was even thinking of go back to my home country for fixing all the things up. The first thing is the English. There are many terminologies that I cannot understand and another thing is money. I am going to pay way more than the insurance coverage (3,100). But I need to hang in there, I pay more money to go to school as an international student and I do not want to waste my parents money to take one more year to get my degree.
And I also have been to Toronto on weekends for seeing a dentist who speaks Mandarin, I will upload everything can prove all about those.
In a word, please help me with the appeal, hope you could understand my situation the last past few weeks have been very tough for me. Thank you so much for considering my request.
