Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To Whom it may concern,

I am writing to request an appeal to have AGRO standing in my GRMN 101 from FALL 2018, due to mental and physical health difficulties I was unable to write the initial the final exam and had it deferred. However, due to the continuation of the severity of my mental health, I was unable to write on the deferred date. I was meeting with counseling services and health services during this time and continued to meet with them regularly. In speaking with the professor, there are concerns with me writing this exam at an even later date as the materials could be comprised. my counselor has also spoken with my professor and this has also been confirmed. In meeting with an academic advisor, it was recommended that we appeal for AGRO standing so the professor is not required to provide a different exam.

Due to the continuation of my mental health and physical health difficulties, I have had to drop all my remaining courses this semester (Winter 2019.) and have decided to graduate with a general degree rather than an honors degree. I plan once my health improves overall, I will return to upgrade my degree to the honors level. At this time, I am hoping to focus on and mental health and physical health treatments to be successful in the future.
