Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
I am appealing to have all four of my courses for the fall semester dropped as I was not able to complete them due to anxiety and depression. I have been struggling with and managing anxiety with the help from my therapist since I began at Queen's two years ago. This year it has progressed and I have been struggling with depression. It has affected my ability to attend class as I have an anxiety attack and feel I cannot leave my bedroom minutes before having to leave. It has also progressed to the point where I am unable to focus on or complete my assignments or study for quizzes and exams. It has been requested by my therapist that I take time off school for an indefinite amount of time. As a result of this negative shift in my mental health, I have not been able to complete this semesters courses to the best of my ability and request that they can be dropped in hopes that when I am healthy and ready to complete my degree I can retake them with a fresh start. I have requested a note from my therapist which I should have to present as soon as possible.
Thank you,
Olivia Reyers
