Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean of Studies,
I am appealing to drop PHYS 242 and MATH 221 from the 2018 fall semester.
I was diagnosed with moderate-severe depression and anxiety in early November. I had originally asked for these two courses to be extended into the winter semester with the thought that I would be able to complete these courses. It was my hope with the medical help and the counselling that I have received and continue to receive that I would be able to complete these courses. Unfortunately, I am struggling to cope with everyday activities. I am continuing to struggle with many of my initial symptoms including fatigue, low motivation, difficulty focusing and difficulty sleeping. My health-care provider is continuing to try to find a medication that will be effective for me. I have been in contact with Kerri Andrews from the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure I have a plan moving forward for my academic future. I am hoping with my continued hard work to improve my mental health and with the help of all my support systems in place I will be able to have a great fresh start at Queens in the Fall term.
