Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Hello,
I am appealing for credit standing in the following classes from fall 2018; PSYCH 271, PSYC 241 and SOCY 200. The reason I am submitting this now and not back then is because I have just come to learn that this is an option for me. My new therapist at LaSalle has told me that this is something a I can and should appeal for given that during the time of those examination I was going though extenuating circumstances beyond my control. During the final examination of these courses I was awaiting a stressful verdict in my trial against the man the sexually assaulted me. This caused me extreme anxiety and distracted me from my studies and overall hindered my ability to study and perform as well as I would had if these circumstances were not present. Now that I am seeing a therapist who specializes in helping victims who have gone through things like sexual assault I am learning more and still learning more how it has affected me in my past, how it still affects me and will probably continue to affect me.
