Petition Letter: To whom this may concern:
The winter 2019 semester was especially challenging for me. I could not get out of bed on some days, and thus had a hard time completing the current coursework. I attempted to make several appointments with student counseling at Lasalle, but was unable to find a close time slot or I had to cancel the appointment since I felt especially unwell and could not make it. I went to see Tess Grant, the occupational therapist, to request some extra time on the final assignments I had for Winter 2019 courses. I had a hard time balancing the exam, final assignments, thinking about graduation, next steps and completing the remaining work from Phil 318.
I contacted professor Guenther and asked if I could have more time to complete the remaining coursework for Phil 318, and she agreed but told me that I would have to complete a formal process. I made an appointment with Ms. Spring Forsberg-Lewis to ask how I can proceed with an extension for Phil 318, and she gave me some information regarding this appeal. I hope I could have another month to complete the course, if a month is not possible, two weeks would also make a really big difference. I had already submitted some of the remaining work and I really do not want to fail this course, especially since I enjoyed the content and the guest lectures. I hope I could have another attempt.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Mozhu Li
