Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Kenza Bathily and I am really hoping to enrol in the course CISC 101 offered this summer. I am interested in gaining computer skills over the summer to gain invaluable experience that I will need for the professional world after graduation. I have no coding background but I am eager to learn. Currently I am enrolled in CISC 121 for the next summer session and I was hoping that you could let me enrol in the course that is recommended to take before CISC 121.

I am taking a considerable amount of summer courses, because I have decided to focus on my studies this summer and I am not currently employed. And so the additional workload would be manageable for me, as I will be dedicating my time to my courses. The late add of CISC101, would permit me too gain the computing skills that I am eager to obtain. Before the add deadline passed I was thinking my summer was going to go a different route, being internships, etc., but as the plans shifted I realized that I really would like to take up coding. Thank you for your time.

Cheers,
Kenza

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: As mentioned in my letter, I am dedicating my summer to courses I wanted to take during the fall/winter terms but could not due to my program's required courses. This means that my schedule is very flexible and I intend to catch up the first and second week of class all as soon as I would be granted enrolment, be it over the weekend or the rest of the week. I am on top of all the assignments for my other courses and so I have plenty of free time I would dedicate to the CISC 101 course. My strategy is to continue to alternate days that I dedicate to one specific course, and in this way I have found success to not fall behind in any course.

I have often taken summer courses or online courses during my academic journey and usually I find them the most fulfilling, which is reflected by the grades I obtain. I am a very good independent learner and so this course form plays to my strengths. Additionally, the learning strategies that I have acquired work best for me with the format of this course. I like the frequent assessment points. The reason I believe I can succeed in this course is because I am motivated to do so and passionate about learning to code.
