Petition Letter: Hello,
I am appealing HIST 339. Unfortunately, I took a course load that I could not handle. I have an eating disorder that had gone untreated for 9 years. Last summer I attempted to seek treatment here in Kingston however there was a misunderstanding between Queens health services and hotel dieu and my blood sample was never processed. This year has been the worst yet. My bulimia has pushed me past the point of exhaustion whereas now I am fearful that both my body and brain function are permanently damaged from it as my usual state is lethargic, irritable, and disassociative. My teeth have also become a huge concern causing me a lot of stress and worsening my depression as I am fearful they will be lost. Asides from that, my anxiety has also been a big issue. If I go through any weight gain from binging I am too embarrassed to attend class. It is not the grade specifically but rather the fact that I am physically and mentally too depleted to complete the remaining work. I am happy to inform however that I am now receiving medical attention in Toronto and am reaching out so I am able to continue to overcome my disease.
