Petition Letter: Riley Jackson Cecil Brady 20131407 18rjcb@queensu.ca
Dear Associate Dean
Hello, my name is Riley and I just finished my first year at Queens. I have been put on academic prohibition due to me not meeting my GPA requirements (I met the credit requirements of 24 units). I am appealing this decision to be put on academic prohibition. I feel as if some of my exams (History, Politics, and Psychology) were unfairly marked due to my poor handwriting. I suffer from poor handwriting because I was diagnosed with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) when I was born. While I have overcome some of the challenges that DCD presents it seems my poor handwriting might be a permanent symptom. I did not request for an IEP, as I thought the exam markers would be able to look past the poor quality writing and read the actual essay. I mistakenly misattributed the marking process and I accept that as my fault .If my appeal is accepted, I will request for an IEP and graciously work through second year with excellent academic results in mind. Please consider my request.
Regards, Riley
