Dear Members of the Board of studies,

I am appealing the Associate Dean¿¿s decision to deny my appeal to waive the 21-day appeal deadline and if granted; to appeal the Associate Dean¿¿s decision to deny my appeal to waive the Requirement to Withdraw for 12 months.

During the timeline of 21 days in which an appeal is to be submitted, I faced two extenuating circumstances which caused my inability to submit the Associate Dean¿¿s decision to deny my appeal to waive the Requirement to withdraw for 12 months.
The first circumstance was severe technological problems involving water damage outside of my control in affect to my laptop which was not only my main source of reliable technology but also contained crucial information concerning access to passwords.
Moreover, this included, but not limited to, my password to allow me to access my Queen¿¿s Email. Although this is impactful as a circumstance occurring individually, I also faced a browser error disallowing me from even having the option to change my password, let alone access my email which would have contained the email possessing the letter about my requirement to withdraw with other crucial information about the process of initiating an appeal and the 21 day deadline it respectfully comes with.
This severe technological problem, I resolved after the deadline, not only impacted my awareness, of my situation and crucial information that would have made me aware of the deadline, but also to progress to the next step involving initiating an appeal.
The second extenuating circumstance, other than technological involved a flare up with my physical, but mostly in respects to my mental health. I was diagnosed with an ongoing anxiety disorder and mood regulation problems. The specific symptoms such as severe fatigue, low energy, cognitive problems, issues functioning etc severely impacted my ability to do day to day tasks.
Albeit the main circumstance being technological, hypothetically, even if I was not faced with this extenuating circumstance concerning the lack of ability to access information concerning the awareness of the deadline, and my academic standing due to the server error, the flare up caused by my psychiatric condition would have severely impacted my ability to do day to day tasks such as constructing an appeal.

In conclusion, mainly technological but also in respects to my mental health condition, overall impacted and initially caused my lack of ability to appeal within the 21 days.
