Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
I am submitting an appeal for Aegrotat standing for two summer courses I took in 2018, which are HIST 125 and HIST 260.
I participated and completed the assignments for both of these courses. I was doing well in both courses until the final exam. I put a lot of effort into my assignments and feel it is quite unfair that my final grades in both of these courses do not reflect that.
I was registered to use Examity for my final exam in both of these courses. I performed the test on my laptop that was requested to ensure my laptop was compatible. There were no issues when the test was done and therefore I was confirmed for my online exams. On the day of both exams, I continuously got kicked out of the system. I called the support number and no one could help me. On the first day of the exam I spent the entire allotted three hours for the exam trying to get into the system and not get kicked out. I even drove to my parents¿¿ house to use their wifi in case it was mine that was the problem. I even borrowed one of their computers to see if it would work. Nothing worked, the support team was completely ineffective and did not even seem to make an attempt to assist me (our call was disconnected on their end a few times and no one even called me back). I was beyond stressed out and upset. I had worked so hard in these courses and even though I was prepared for the exam I could not complete it. My second exam was the very next day. The exact same thing happened. I notified both instructors about what happened and was told I could rewrite it in September. As much as I was appreciative of the staff trying to accommodate me, waiting a few weeks to write an exam that I was prepared for at the date of the scheduled exam is not fair. I do not have the time to continuously study, and I doubt I would be able to retain all the information at a later date. I had taken two days off of work to write these scheduled online exams. I was unable to take further days off from work, forcing me to forfeit my final exam grade which greatly hindered my over final grades in this course.
I acknowledge that I should have addressed this at the time and that it is now a year later. The reason was because I questioned if I even wanted to take further courses at Queens. I was so disappointed. I am a single mother, with a full time job. I am unable to attend studies in-class. I was thankful to find a program that was offered completely online. However, my expectation was that the services online would be equal to those that are offered on campus. That I would receive the same support as someone who was on campus writing an exam. I do not feel that was the case in this situation. Now that I have decided to complete my program with Queens, I do not want to have these grades on my transcript or effect my GPA because had I been able to complete the exams these would not have been my final grades.
I would greatly appreciate that AG grades be considered for these two courses. It was not an extenuating circumstance on my end. I took all the correct measures that were expected of me and I would like my final grades to reflect my hard work.
