Petition Letter
Petition Letter: To Whom it may concern,
I am appealing to late-drop my failed courses in this previous winter term of 2019, namely the following courses: ENGL 237, ENGL 285, ENGL 360, and PHIL 250. I am basing this appeal on extenuating circumstances regarding personal and mental issues I have been dealing with over the past year including family issues and a recurring personal struggle with depression and social anxiety. These issues have prevented me from attending classes regularly and succeeding in my coursework, including course projects and assignments. I have visited a Queens¿¿ wellness councilor and an Academic councilor past the drop deadline who had suggested an appeal as an option I could take. These issues and doubts regarding my chosen program began surfacing around mid to late February, and it started to negatively impact my work in the following months. In the past couple of months my mental health has been improving and I plan to move to a location closer to Queens Campus in this following year to improve my academics performance and attendance. Thank you for your consideration.
