Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I have missed the deadline for the Fall 2019 course drop date and would be greatly appreciative if I could waived from it in order to drop the course, ANAT215. Within the last couple of months I have been having personal health issues and issues with my choice in my academic plan. I was misinformed at the Arts & Science Academic Advisor Office, that even past the November 1st drop deadline I could drop a course and it will show up as ¿Dropped¿¿ on my transcript. I was told it could be done by myself on SOLUS and I will only suffer financial penalty. After hearing this, I was advised by my family to wait a little to ensure I was making the correct decision. When I finalized that it was beneficial for me to drop the course in order to lighten my work load to recuperate this term for my health and other personal issues, I missed an assignment worth 15 on Sunday November 3rd. When I attempted to drop the course and had difficulties, I headed back to the office and was told an appeal is necessary after the drop deadline.

I would really appreciate if you took my circumstances into consideration to allow me to drop this course. I was having personal health issues and further misinformed, leading me to finalize my decision a few days after the deadline.
