Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear reader,

I Leland Roman am a student in the third year of the life sciences program. My grades in the winter term of 2019 suffered due to my father being diagnosed with brain cancer. Specifically, MICR 221 and PHGY 216. He was the sole earner for our family and a huge support system within it. He passed away a couple of months ago. During his illness, I had to do a lot of work for our family and him; the whole ordeal also took a toll on me mentally. Both of these things caused my grades to suffer. I was unable to get help from the Queen's health services when I sought them out during the ordeal. Thus I write this letter hoping to obtain credit standing (CR) for some of the grades that I obtained during the 2019 Winter semester as they are negatively effecting my GPA in a drastic manner. My mental health was bad enough that I was unable to help myself for a long time. Now that the ordeal is over, I'm beginning to get better I have been trying to backtrack and figure out how I can get my GPA back on track to further help decrease my stress from the ordeal.

Thanks,
Leland Roman
