Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,

I am drafting this appeal letter due to the fact that I thought I dropped a course last semester, however, it showed up on my transcript as an F. Approximately one assignments/mandatory discussion into the course LLCU 209, I came to a conclusion that this was not the class for me. With that in mind, I went to drop it and believed that it went through. I continued on with my other classes and disregarded any assignments, midterms or tests in relation to that class (as that is the normal thing to do after dropping a class.) It wasn't until I received a final mark of F, that I came to realize that the drop did not go through or that I didn't finish the full process of dropping the course. Would there be any chance of taking the mark off of my transcript It is affecting my GPA and I am in the process of raising my mark.

I have no documentation or evidence regarding this issue, except my word that it was most likely a mistake on my part. I hope this appeal letter will come to show that I truly believed that I dropped LLCU 209 and most importantly emphasize that I had nothing to benefit from keeping the course and gaining an F.
