Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Hi there I am looking to appeal to drop 4 of the classes that I took during the first semester (POLS 243, POLS 261, DEVS 220 and DEVS 230). Unfortunately, I was hospitalized due to ongoing mental health problems in August before I returned for second year. I thought it would be in my best interest to return to school during first semester despite being advised that I should take first semester off to become more accustomed to my medication and other factors. Upon arriving at school and moving into my house, problems began to arise with one of my housemates involving them making threats to me which made it extremely hard to focus on my academics as well and did not give me the time to focus on improving my health condition. I would really appreciate the opportunity to be able to retake these classes without penalty as my housing situation has now been resolved and would like to be able to take these courses now that I am able to focus on my academics. I also would like the chance to be able to learn the full course content in these courses as I was unable to do so when I took them in first semester because I am really passionate about the content that I was able to learn during this time.
