Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern,
I'm currently enrolled in 4 courses and I'd prefer to stay on track with 5. The day before the academic deadline to drop a course, I was in 5 courses but waitlisted for 1 so I saw 6 on my schedule. My cousin, who is a teenager, had a baby and I was running around during this time, barely sleeping so I could cater to her because she is family. On the day of the deadline, I was very sleep-deprived and emotionally drained and I again checked my schedule and saw 6 courses (forgetting I was waitlisted for one of them). I decided between school and helping my cousin, 6 courses would be too stressful so I dropped one I was enrolled in and left it at that.
I then realized this week that I wasn't in the waitlisted course, that I need for my program, and that I will fall behind without it. I spoke to the head of environmental sciences, Karen, and she said that if I came to an agreement with the arts and science department, that she would find a spot for me. I also spoke with my professor who told me I could continue coming to class and hand in assignments that he would mark if I could successfully appeal this course.
Thank you for your time, I hope my restless mistake doesn't affect my future at Queen's.
Cheers,
Kenzie

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: To Whom It May Concern,
To prevent this from happening again, I will never enroll in 6 courses again, so that I never put myself in this type of overwhelming position. I will continue helping my family but ensure that I rest before important deadlines. In the meantime, I will continue acting as a student in this course as I'm a very passionate environmental student, and this is the curriculum I strive in.
Thank you for your time,
Kenzie
