Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am appealing to drop ANAT 100 past the last day to drop winter courses. I had attempted to drop the class on March 3rd which was 4 days past the deadline. I had struggled with accessing certain content as the course is online due to technical difficulties with the Examity online proctoring site. I had trouble connecting to a proctor for my first block theory exam but managed to get connected eventually and completed it. I found the whole proctoring process uncomfortable as I have struggled with anxiety (I have a disability on file) as I had to show them my entire room, desk, and have them watch me through my webcam when I wrote an exam. The second block theory exam I could not connect even after re-scheduling my exam to March 3rd due to connection difficulties but I was never able to connect. I therefore, was unable to complete the exam before the deadline of March 3rd at 3pm despite having studied hard for the exam. I was anxious about navigating the programs and my lack of luck with them ultimately led to my poor results on the 2 Block Theory exams and will now have caused me to fail the course. I wanted to keep the course as anatomy is one of my favourite subjects (I studied it in Kinesiology and Biology in highschool) and had tried to continue with the course but after missing the exam on the 3rd I became very discouraged.

I hope you can fully consider the extenuating circumstances in this appeal.
