Petition Letter
Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
Hello I am writing to you in regard to an assignment I submitted a few weeks ago in my online anatomy course. I am not sure this appeal will change it, but I am willing to try.
I was to complete a voiced-over PowerPoint explaining an assigned topic and did so to the very best of my ability. I am not doing well in this course as the material is quite hard and specific, so in a way, I was relying on this mark to boost my average and GPA.
When I received my mark update, I only got a 46 on the assignment, as I incorrectly uploaded the assignment as a PDF rather than a ppt. I assumed PowerPoint would keep it in the correct format, and I honestly did not know the difference in formats, as I've never really had to deal with anything but PDF.
When I realized my error, I immediately emailed the instructor, but they have refused to remark it.
My entire GPA, and as a result, my ability to get into my desired major is being impacted by this mark.
As this is an online course, I would think there would be some room for technical difficulties, but I have been extremely disappointed in the lack of understanding and help offered by the course instructors.
I understand this was my error, but I have full proof that it was completed on time. I think it is quite unfair for 40 of my assignment grade to be taken away over such a minor mistake.
I am extremely worried about my marks and this course and am willing to take any advice offered.
I am unsure what documentation would help in my case, but can provide any if asked.
I am not sure if you will be able to help me out in this case, but either way, thank you for taking the time to read my letter.
Best regards,
Raquel Rufino
