Petition Letter: To Whom it May Concern

I am writing this letter to appeal my two courses, Psyc 100 (full year course from 2018-2019) and Socy 210 (fall term class of 2019).
Given my personal circumstances and mental health I am asking for consideration. It has been a very emotionally tumultuous few years. On December 31st, 2017 I found out that my father had committed multiple infidelities. I started seeing a therapist to help me cope. Then on December 5th, 2018 my aunt Jessica Kolberg who lived in South Africa attempted to take her own life. My mom (Nicky Holmes) flew back to be with her family. My aunt passed away on January 9th, 2019. I was very close to my aunt and this had a profound effect on the whole family. My grandmother Pamela Holmes then passed away very suddenly on May 3rd, 2019. In November 2019 my parents separated due to continued infidelity. The split has not been amicable and this has continued to create additional pressure and stress for me. In addition, since 2019 I have been under the care of a psychiatrist Dr Amy Cheung since and am being treated for major depression and anxiety. In light of all these ongoing traumatic experiences my mental health has been greatly impacted and affected my academic performance at university. I am attaching all the relevant documentation. I am hopeful that considering the extenuating circumstances my late academic appeal will be successful. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you.
