Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: In the midst of the global pandemic, I have had to deal with very personal matters which has caused my anxiety to become unmanageable. This in combination with the academic expectations of the course I am currently enrolled in (LAW 204) is causing my mental health to deteriorate. While I understand that the academic and financial drop deadline was on June 3rd, I was not in the proper state of mind to make the decision to stay enrolled in the course. I truly need time to focus on myself and my mental health, as I don't believe that I will be able to perform to my best ability for the remainder of the course. The last thing I would want is my extenuating circumstances to affect my academic career. Through a thorough discussion with my therapist, I came to the conclusion that dropping the course is the only way to alleviate any pressure on me and to allow me to focus on my mental health. As it saddens me to write this letter of appeal, I ask you to please take my situation into consideration.
