Petition Letter
Petition Letter: This past semester at Queen's I took three courses outside my faculty which happened to be Law 201, Law 206, and BMED 373. Yesterday, I spoke with an academic advisor, and surprisingly found out I was behind on credits. That being said after looking into this matter I found out that my BMED 373 course does not count towards my undergraduate degree. I was never aware of this regulation of only being allowed to take 6.0 units from another faculty. It is difficult to find that information on the Arts & Science website and was never told about this rule after meeting with academic advisors on countless occasions. Lastly, SOLUS never blocked me from registering in the 3rd course nor, had a pop up to let me know that this course would not be counting towards my degree. It would be a shame if after all my hard work, money and dedication to this course that it does not count as an elective for my degree due to the lack of information academic advisors provide us, students, with. I have never failed a course at Queen's and I work very hard in my studies balancing my certificate and my undergraduate degree. If I knew about this rule I would have never taken this course.
Academic Plan
Academic Plan: I plan on achieving academic success through working towards the remaining courses I have left in order to graduate with my degree as well as my certificate. I plan on actively studying over the course of my fourth year to ensure my GPA reaches its highest for post-graduate opportunities. Thank you for taking me into consideration
