Petition Letter: Hi,


At the point of dropping this course I was getting all As or A+ on all assignments. I am not dropping because I was afraid I'll fail the course.

I am a non-degree interest student who was taking the course to simply learn about biology.

I am dropping the course because my personal circumstances as well as work schedule made studying for the exam completely unmanageable and the course became an unnecessary stressor on my life.

I am an articling law student and while I had free time to pursue this course during covid 19 my workload became unmanageable as we started to open up.

I am working 60 hours a week in the pacific time zone making it difficult to meet deadlines and communicate with group members in the eastern time zone.

On top of a difficult work schedule covid-19 has had a significant impact on my mental health. I also have a family member diagnosed with late stage cancer that I'm afraid I will never get to see again because she is in a different province and covid 19 concerns.

I decided I needed to leave the course as I was starting to experience panic attacks and was not in the mental place to prepare for the exam.

I hold 2 degrees (a BA and a JD), and I would really prefer that dropping this class not impact my chances of pursuing further higher education in my chosen field.

I am a bit confused about documentation required I do not intend to pursue a degree at Queens or anything. I have a previous diagnoses of mental health conditions that I have doctors notes for but it contains highly personal information that I would prefer not to share if it's not needed.
