Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To whom this may concern,

My name is Matteo Van Wees an aspiring History major here at Queens University.

I am requesting an Aegrotat appeal for HIST 312. I am requesting because of some extenuating circumstances I endured during the ending months of winter semester 2019.

A little back story- During the last week of March 2019 I begun to feel very sick with a high fever and constant headaches (on top of my chronic migraines). I gave it a few days to get better but my health made a turn for the worse. I was unable to leave my bed and was in constant pain. I made the call to head home and see the doctor. Upon seeing the doctor I was diagnosed with mono. This really made it hard to complete any school work. I applied for academic consideration for HIST 312 and excused absences. I was granted both. Being that I was sick for April of 2019 it interfered with me completing necessary assignments to achieve my goal in completing the class. I was never able to feel well enough to finish the course work.

I am applying for an Aegrotat appeal because I completed at least 60 of the class. From what I remember I was doing fine in the class until this point. I need this class to be able to take the upper year classes to complete my BAH in History. I strongly urge whomever is reading this to consider this course of action. It will help fulfill my goal in a BAH in History. Being that this circumstance was completely out of my control I believe this is the best course of action to take.

Thank you for taking the time to read this over,

Matteo van Wees
