The purpose of this letter is to appeal to drop Health Studies 102 (retake in Winter 2021) and to select a P grade on my other Winter 2020 term courses.
Due to my own illness during the Winter 2020 term, as well as disruption due to covid-19 pandemic, I feel that my performance was greatly impacted.
In Fall term 2019 I received a B in Health 101 which would have provided me an opportunity to claim Health as my major at the end of my first year. However, it is a combination of your mark in Health 101 along with your most recent GPA, that determines your acceptance into Health Studies. It was my low GPA in Winter term 2020 that prevented me from reaching the standard to claim Health Studies as my major.

Now that we are taking courses online, circumstances have improved. I just recently completed an Anatomy course in the summer 2020 term and am awaiting results of this course. I have also been in contact with the academic advisors as well as the SKHS Undergraduate Chair to seek guidance on the academic plan to allow me the opportunity for admission into Health Studies.

It may be useful to note that I graduated high school with academic distinction, so I believe the drop in performance is directly and reasonably linked to the reoccurring health issues and the concerns and disruption caused by COVID-19. I think the fact that going into the final exam with my summer anatomy course I was holding a strong A average is testament that the aforementioned issues were contributing to my performance drop.

I appeal to you to please allow me to drop Health 102 and to convert my other course Winter 2020 grades from a letter grade to a P (Pass) - specifically Biology 103, Biology 111, Cognitive Science 100 and Psychology 100.
