Petition Letter

Petition Letter: The reason why I was not able to enroll into the course before the deadline is due to change in offered courses in my exchange institution. I will be going on exchange to Germany from April-July and before the winter break, I have been in contact with my exchange institution and they said that an equivalent course is offered during my exchange semester. As POLS 384 is a mandatory class, I have consulted the Head of Political Studies and she approved my request to take the course in Germany. However, the professor teaching the course in Germany recently notified me that the course will not be offered during my exchange semester. Due to the fact that the institution in Germany was on their holiday break, any sort of communication via e-mail was replied fairly slowly. Since I found out that I would not be able to take it in Germany, I have been in constant contact with Ms. Frances Shepherd as well as Professor Amyot who gave me permission to join the class despite the course being full.

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: In order for me to catch up with the class, I have been attending the lectures. During the period of my appeal processing, I am not officially enrolled into any tutorial section. To ensure that I remain caught up and earn participation marks, I will contact the Professor to ask for his permission to attend an available tutorial section. In regards to catching up with readings, I have been using my friend's textbook to do the necessary readings and I will continue to do so until my appeal is approved, which then I will purchase my own textbook.
