Ref: The appeal of grade: PHGY 210, Extenuating circumstances: Medical conditions: Advance Cancer Diagnosis / Permeant physical and physiological disorders.

I am writing to appeal the PHYGY 210 grade I received in 2017. I was distraught and supervised to receive an email from the Faculty of Arts and Science that I did not meet your enrollment conditions. I was no longer eligible to take courses at Queen¿¿s University. As you know, the gap information that led to me received the dismissal letter this week from studies ANAT100 and program. In 2016, I was diagnosed with age 3C breast cancer, which advanced to stage 4 in early June 2017. In the middle and past the withdrawal date during the course, PHGY 210 took at queens at the time.

I had to undergo additional sugary and further treatment, which affected my student dramatically, and my grade suffered because of health conditions. I had a challenging time finishing the semester, and my grade suffered from medical treatment and surgeries. I am not a person to make excuses for poor academic performance, but I feel that medical conditions had a significant physical and psychological impact on my academic performance. It was not my fault or had control over at the time.

At the time, I was in contact and communicated with my professor, facilitators and accessibility Services advisor, who arranged for an alternative makeup assignment and deferral of the midterm exam to pass the courses. I could not manage, to continue my studies, and I took a leave of absence from classes. When I returned, I needed the course; makeup assignments were granted, and I deferred the exams to finish the course.

I completed the midterm the following semester, as I could not defer the final or midterm further. I finish the midterm exam, as I could not postpone the exams beyond the fall semester. With the make up an assignment, I was able to complete enough of the requirement of the courses 31/50 defer exams. Then appeal the grade later.
Communicated my concerns with my health and not feeling would be successful with assessability services, advises Bonnie Hunt and David Youssef, Academic Advisor. I received guidance and support from everyone involved to take the midterm exam, which was divided into two parts, to do the best I could under the circumstances. Bonnie Hunt, Davis, and professor and facilitator Christopher Ward, Alana Korczynski assured me, provided support with discussion to appeal the missed final exam, deferral and my final grade based on my medical circumstance. As was still not well and still experienced medical problems due to my ongoing health issue at that time.

Please understand that my low GPA that led to my dismissal this past week is not an accurate indicator of academic abilities and that I am not a terrible student. I am an excellent student who has permeant disability physical and psychological causes of a medical condition that is beyond my control.

I hope you will consider my Cancer diagnoses 2016 and 2017 and my ongoing medical conditions as a valid extenuating circumstance that leads to poor academic performance. I am attaching the emails from the time period and medical documents to support my appeal, and I hope you will consider granting a credit standing for the grade due to my extenuating circumstances. Thank you in advance for your time and for considering my appeal.
